We got a package from Mae's Grandma and Grandpa Gillming! We got some protein powder and beef jerky to bulk her up! Just kidding. We're trying to pack the pounds on Shawn! She got an "I love Grandma and Grandpa onsie" as well. Today is turning out to be really great. Hopefully no more tornado scares for us!

This absolutely blows my mind! I can't believe they are the same baby! I must admit that Mae is a lot more fun now. She has so much more expression and I LOVE the million smiles I receive every day. I'm so thankful for this healthy happy little girl. God is too good to us!

Sick Baby

Mae got her first cold today! Boo hoo... I was so sad for her. She has a little cough and has a bit of a stuffy nose. She was happy as could be but I just wanted to hug and snuggle with her all day. I had to go to the dentist and Shawn was an excellent baby nurse. : ) He is so good with her and had her right on schedule. I met up with them at the Doctor's office and the doc said there wasn't really anything we could do. I'm still happy we went because it's good to know she's ok.
They weighed her and she is such a little peanut! 12lbs 5oz so that makes her in about the 15-25th percentile. Man, she feels a lot heavier than that!!! haha Our official 4 month visit is May 31st even though she turns 4 months tomorrow. She is napping right now and I think she may be onto something with that! I may have to take one myself.

My sweet Mae gets sweeter by the day! She officially slept completely through the night last night. She went to bed at the same time as us (early) and woke up with us at around 7:30. She's amazing!

She has learned to grab things real well the past week. We hang toys from her play mat and she loves to grab them and try to put them in her mouth.

Her 4 month Dr. appointment is on May 31 even though she is 4 months in 5 days. Ugh, I wish it was sooner. Mae said she can wait... she doesn't want any more shots!

She has laughed approximately 4 times. I can tell she wants to but she's a late bloomer when it comes to laughing. Oh well, her smile is good enough for me!

Week 15 Sweetie

Mae has one super long hair on her head. All her other hairs are really short so it's so funny when this one sticks up.

365 Days Ago

One year ago today I took a pregnancy test and it came back positive. I had taken one 2 days earlier and it was negative so I was sure this one would be. I left the bathroom and I came back in and just about threw it away when I saw a faint line on there. I looked up everything online and it said no matter how faint it is, if there is a line then you are pregnant. I was ecstatic.
I found out early on a Saturday morning before work. I asked Shawn to come in the bedroom and we sat on the bed. I made small talk before I blurted out I think I'm pregnant. Shawn was SO excited and shocked. We decided that after work I would take another one just to make sure. I had a big job interview that day to be a potter and the positive test made me a little on edge. Luckily I got the job. : )
After work, another test, another positive result. Now it was time to tell everybody! We got my parents on skype and they just figured I was going to tell them about my interview. We talked about work for 10 minutes and then I told my mom I had an early mothers day present. I was shaking like a leaf when we told them. My mom said "Are you serious? Brittany, are you joking??" If I hadn't seen my mom moving then I would have thought the screen was frozen looking at my dad. He hadn't moved an inch.haha He said he was confused because my mom was being so loud. haha Once the initial shock was over they were so excited and then we told everyone else. Next we told Shawn's parents, they were very excited and I thought they might be a little more shocked. Maybe they were and didn't show it. haha

This year has gone so fast and has been so great. I'm so happy I have a little girl to show for it. God has been so so so amazing and still is. :) He has given us a healthy perfect little girl and we trust him with every part of our lives.

Wake up Girl

I'm not a terrible mother for waking her up! She had been sleeping for 3 hours and I needed her to get up so that she would sleep at night. Also I don't let her sleep in bed with me, I had just nursed her and she fell back asleep. Now that we've cleared up all those questions you had, enjoy the video. : )

It's a little hard to watch since she's moving so much but she just loves this. She opens her mouth so wide. She likes bouncing on the ball much more than her new jumping contraption. haha go figure
