Mae's Birthday; Part One

We took a lot of pictures over her birthday so I shall make two posts to celebrate.
Mae opening her first birthday present ever! She got bath toys from Grandma.
This is the birthday dress that Grandma Lori (Emily's mom) got for Mae. It was so perfect because we didn't have anything special for her to wear. How flipping cute is she!?
 Birthday morning.
Megan and Matt got Mae this giant teddy bear and Harrison and Emily got the same one! haha Mae loves her giant friends.

Now for the sad part. On Friday, Mae was so cranky (even though aunt megan was here!) and I thought she was just going through separation anxiety or something. Well we took her temperature and it was 102.7 so my sweet baby was sick. We had to cancel her party the next day and ended up in urgent care with a super gay doctor who thought we were overreacting first time parents, which maybe we were. By Sunday, she was feeling better. On Monday morning, I noticed her full body rash that just got worse as the day went on. I googled (of course) and found that she probably had roseola which is just a virus that runs it's course. We went to the Dr. for her 12 month visit and sure enough, it was roseola. This was good for Mae because it meant that she got to postpone her shots! Oh, and she weighs 18.8lbs , same as last month, and is 29in tall.

How is my sweet girl already one year old?
Honestly I cannot believe it. It feels like I've hardly come to terms that I have a baby yet.
I'm so thankful that she is healthy and so sweet. (except for right now when I can here her crying cause she doesn't want to nap! haha)

Mae is really growing up.....
-She can feed herself with a spoon. (well if we put food on a spoon then she'll grab it and most of the time it'll all end up in her mouth)
-She sleeps about 11 1/2 hours through the night. She goes to sleep at 8 and wakes up at 7:30 usually.
-Her favorite thing to say is "da da da da" but also throw in the occasional "mama" and "hi"
-Her favorite person changes often. Some days it's me, sometimes grandpa but we can usually always count on Aunt Megan to make her happy!
-Her favorite food group is DAIRY! She loves yogurt (specifically yotoddler strawberry banana), cheddar cheese, cottage cheese, string cheese, and she really enjoys drinking whole milk.
-She is just about done with bottles. We're not ready to let go of the bedtime bottle and probably won't for a little while. Today she only drank a sippy cup which she wasn't thrilled about.
-Mae only drinks out of straw sippy cup. I tried the normal ones but she hates them. Oh well.
-She loves being chased. It is seriously her favorite game ever.
-Next week she is going to be getting her 12 month shots. Poor baby... oh I mean, poor toddler.
-I bet she weighs about 20 pounds.

I know I say this every month but it just keeps getting better. We are so in love with her. We are so thankful God has given us such a happy healthy little girl.

Here are some videos from this morning when she was opening presents. Enjoy

Goofy Goofy Girl

I never thought that every month would get better but it has. When she was a newborn I loved it because she was so sleepy and cuddly but now she means to be cuddly and it's so much sweeter. If I pat my shoulder she'll lay her head down, not for long but it is adorable. Tonight she was just rolling all around the room. She wouldn't stop at all she would just roll roll roll. She has made me laugh so much today and I just love love love being her mom. Parenthood is so great.

This is one of my paper hat creations when experimenting with designs for the preschoolers at church. We ended up going with something much simpler but this cowboy has was hilarious!

Laughing at Grandma in her paper hat.
We put 3 big blankets on top of her and she was so content....
For a few seconds, at least
The quality of this picture sucks but she looks SO cute!

Last pictures of 2012

It's been an amazing year. I feel so insanely blessed with how thing have turned out. I could write about 20 pages of how good God is and how blessed we've been in 2011. We pray for a 2012 that is filled with fun and joy!

(Yes, that shirt says "Mae, The last unicorn" and yes, Megan did it from scratch on her new sewing machine.

Video Overload

This is about 2 week before Jude started crawling. He was so close for so long. Mae stole his socks.

I love this video! She is such a stinker!

Last Wednesday was the first day we knew something was up with Mae. Shawn was holding her watching TV and he held her head against his and she crashed in about 2 minutes. She has just started feeling better today. I'm happy we made it 11 months without a sickness.

She loves her baby cousin!

Christmas morning! These clothes are so flipping cute!

Christmas!!

Sorry for the long time in between posts! I'll make up for it. I promise!

I wish I had taken more pictures at Christmas but we were in a hurry opening presents because more people were about to come over. Here are some sweet ones.

I caught Mae-Mae kissing Santa Clause underneath the mistletoe last night! haha She gave him like 5 kisses this night.
Mae looks pretty guilty being caught playing with Matt's ice cream maker!
She was so sleepy and grumpy on Christmas Eve. Shawn and I watched all the 1 and 2 year olds and were SO exhausted at the end of the night!
Mae and Grandpa opening his stocking.
She loved opening her presents from Grandma, Grandpa and Emili
Ben was a big helper and he was very excited as you can tell.
 Jake loved his Cardinals jersey!!
Mae was just as happy to eat her presents as she was to open them.
Harrison and Emily looking very awake on Christmas morning even after a sleepless night with their boys.

It was such a wonderful first Christmas with Mae. It's hard to believe it's been a year since I was very pregnant last Christmas. We are so grateful for all the great gifts we were given. It felt like too much.
