Ultrasound Day

Ok, so I had my ultrasound today. I could probably write a funny story about it but I'm way to pooped. This morning I woke up feeling more nauseous than ever. Ick! I laid on the bathroom floor and tried my best to eat. After a couple hours it went away and I took a shower which helped.

With the nausea gone, I went to Silver Dollar City to try on new clothes for my new job as a potter. Just jeans and a blouse really, but I'm excited about it.

Shawn and I left SDC and made our way to the doctor. I had to drink 32 ounces of water in an hour which I can normally do just fine, as you all probably know. But I was so sick to my stomach and nervous that it was hard. We went into room 404 and it was the nicest looking doctors office I have ever seen. Shawn and I both said we wished we could have stayed in the lobby longer. : )

So they called us back and she had me lay down on this bed. She squirted the ultrasound jelly on my belly which was surprisingly warm and then she turned the lights out to look. She said everything looked good. I have a cyst the size of a golf ball on my left ovary but don't worry, it's a good cyst. It produces hormones and stuff and the doc said she would have been worried had it not been there. After that she let me go to the bathroom and relieve myself. I had a vaginal ultrasound next (yes, it's as uncomfortable as it sounds) She said that the baby was only 4 weeks along. I was like, "WHAT!?"

Side note-the heart starts beating at exactly 6 weeks so even if you're a day less then you won't see it.

Good news, the yolk sac is in my uterus. Bad news I'm actually 5 weeks 5 days preg today. 3 days less than I thought. I wish they would have scheduled the appointment just a couple days later. Bummer.

Then I had to work the rest of the day and that brings me here, tired and kinda sad. I know it's a minor minor letdown but I think i'm just drained and I'm overreacting.

Baby Sweet Pea

Baby Watt is 6 weeks old today and the size of a little sweet pea. Awwww! And hopefully that little tiny heart is beating super strong for the ultrasound tomorrow. I hate to say it but I've had my first couple days of mild morning sickness. Ironically, mine has been in the morning for the most part. I have a box of cheerios by the bed and if I eat before I get out of bed it's better. Although working 10 1/2 hours outside on my feet didn't help much. God is super good though because my day went by so quickly which it rarely does. It is so clear to me how much God orchestrated this whole thing. We just got insurance, (we realized just my first doctor visit would have been $600 and it was free!) I got the pottery job the day I found out I was pregnant which means indoors all the time, sitting often, and a pay raise. We feel so incredibly blessed right now. God is just good.

Anyways, on a different note, we got a new bedspread which is pictured below. I wanted a different one but Shawn said it was to girly so this one was a compromise. I love it though. We got it for 30% off at target and I almost bought it full price. Silly me. Above the bed is one of the pictures we had hanging up at our wedding. Heather took it and I think it just looks lovely.

I think that's all that is new currently. I shall update you tomorrow to let you know how the doctor goes!! Keep on prayin!

The Package!

It's picture time!!

I got my long awaited package today! Oh my goodness! Am I really gonna have a baby?

Alrighty, little baby Watt got his/her first clothes today from Grandma Rene'. The baby got 2 onesies, 3 tiny little caps, and some sweet baby socks. She also sent me some maternity clothes. I love the stretchy waistband shorts. You can only really get away with that when you're pregnant so I will fully enjoy it. Too bad I won't be able to really wear that stuff for a couple months.

The picture at the very top is of the booties Megan knit me. (couldn't put the picture any nearer to this actual writing haha) The baby is pretty stoked about them. They are so little and cute. Auntie Megan is pretty cool.

The package was more than I expected and everything else in it was much more exciting than my silly ipod. Thanks Mom and Megs! Only 4 days till we see the heartbeat. Keep on prayin!

5 Weeks Today

I am officially 5 weeks pregnant today! According to the ticker below, my little one is the size of an apple seed and doesn't look very human yet. I feel super bloated today (gosh, baby!) and I'm hoping that will go away soon. Although if I had to choose between nausea and bloating, I'd choose the latter. I'm expecting my first baby package from my mom this week! The only things I know that are in it are my ipod (finally, Harrison!! haha) and the sweetest pair of baby booties Megan knit me. Ohhhh they are so tiny and cute. I can't wait to see them. I'm counting down the days to my first ultrasound on the 24th, so really only a week now! I get to see a little beating heart..... so excited! None of this feel real yet but maybe when I actually see the little creature on the ultrasound it'll all set in.
